Yes but not all 55 monks are bots/bad....me and a couple ppl i no we just farm to make gold...without scamming people...without the 55 build we would have to waste time in FOW, UW or New UW..and they take way tooo long
I don't hate 55 monks or any kind of 55 character.
55 monk bots are a different story.
Besides its always fun to play my W/N in PvP arena and run into a 55 monk.

I like to take Symbiosys into the UW for the health boost it gives everyone enchanted. Especially those little 55ers.. they needs an hp boost. Poor little guys.
It never seems to be enough though... they die anyhow...

I have seen to many tell us they are full healers with 500 hp just to see as soon as we enter the area that they are tanking and shortly after leading large mobs towards us. Once we are all dead they continue to farm while leaving us to rot or log out.
55hp Monks would be ok if they played the part of a tank and only aggro groups that the team can handle and share the spoils but the lust for gold is to much for them and they become jerks.
I agree not all 55hp are bad just most that I have seen.

Im glad All those 55 monk's are gone from Augury even though they do nothing but mind their own business and continue farming! Oh yeah...As Sno has stated earlier, 55 monk DOES require a lot of skill. Non-55'ers may ask wtf is this retard talking about...WELL..Most 55 monks used to start off at augury rock (as it is easy) to learn the build. They then move onto UW (some start at UW thinking they are "leet) and have to adjust and learn how to farm there (hence the "55 monks suck" and the "noob 55 monks"). Me? well i followed cerb's guild to 55 monking (aka i started at griffons then did a bit of UW). Then i branched out...bleached shells, troll, hydra, etc. untill I became what I am today...a decently-knowledgeable 55 monk always looking for new opportunities. Whats that? You run too? Why yes, I also do a bit of 55 monk running (not as sucessful as others here on this forum, but it works).
55 monks should not be taken cheaply. 55 monk builds do not make use of exploits (go look up EXPLOITS in a dictionary please) but rather make use of their INNOVATIVE mindset to counter problems.

Plus, they do not add to the game's playability since the likelihood of obtaining a healer/protection monk is inversely proportional to the percentage of the 55ers.
Then again 55ing is probably one of the only reasons why some greedy people make monks. So the proportion would be wrong.
Tsunami we are not flaming all 55 monks as I said before they can play an important role in many GW missions as they make a perfect tank. The problem is that some have made it hard for the rest of us to trust them.
Possibly because the 55 has spread to the professions with 4 pips of regen.

Sure and I am pretty sure before the 55 came out everyone dissed the wamo and called it a skill-less build. So what is your point. Oh beyond perhaps the Signet of Midnight cookie (which actually needs lucks and some skill to pull off) how many other mesmer cookie builds do you know? Now if you can come up with more than 0, how many of those are as brain dead as the 55?

The 55hp build is far from brain dead to pull off well. If it was so easy, why would there be such an insane ammount of terrible ones? If it didn't involve any skill wouldn't everyone be awesome at it? Why is it so hard to find decent ones anywhere?

u know ppl r really ticking me off with this hate. by the way 55 monks are not bad in groups. i've used mine and beat the game as a 55 build. in groups mostly. ive almost completed the entire UW with my 55. unfortuantely few ppl had to leave. my 55 is mostly used for groups and soloing when and where i want. i liked my 55 so much i made 2 of them. but what you are saying in real fact is the 55 build isnt the problem but some people that use them is the problem. then please get off the blame the build mode people. its people like that is why i solo more and more nowadays.

They might make it far enough to realize the path is locked, and never try it again. If runners started joining groups in FoW claiming to be a tank or what not, then hate would arise. Although most warriors are just designed to hold the book anyway so it's not like your offense would really have taken a hit anyway. At least the 55 will deal some damage and get you experience.

Something you need to realize about most 55HP farmers. We all started poor. That means a lot of us didn't have enough money to farm with a full loadout of superior runes, or maybe we hadn't found the quest that gives us the -50HP accessory. We started with more than 55HP. We can go back, if we have to. That, or a simple swap of SoJ to Aura of Lich and lower our ability to nuke.
Constant cries to nerf farming fall on deaf ears by Anet, I'm sure, because they can tell at a glance that you're still new to the game. if you weren't, you'd realize that, after you beat it a few times, there’s nothing left to do but PvP, help guildies, and farm.
55HP is the main/only way for monk characters to farm solo. But they aren't the only farmers out there. Every class from Ele to tank has a farm build, many of them posted right here in guru and more than one as "exploitive" as any monk build.
So, to nerf monk farms, Anet has to, to be fair and remain balanced, nerf them all. Do that, and veteran players lose 1/3 of the reason to keep playing. PvE ONLY players lose half.
People don't play half a game very long...and they don't buy its sequels.
So then they don't buy Factions, continue giving better weapons to guildies, or...stay around anymore. Fresh blood keeps the genre alive, but its the veterans, the people who've played this game start to finish, that help those young guns stick around, stay alive, and learn the tricks to enjoy playing GW. People deride farming as bad for GW economy. I ask you, if most long standing PvE players don't continue to play, what will THAT do for in-game economy? What will that do for Anets?
Not only are you biting the hands that feed you, you’re asking Anet to cut them off for you as well. Why? Really; I want an answer. Is it because of you can't afford to make a 55HP? Neither could I when I started this game. Is it because you don't think this game was designed to be soloed? Well, take that up with Anet; I'd love to grab henchmen and farm greens, but I can't. Zoning in with a group of henchmen nerfs good drops to 1 in 1000 as opposed to a full human group of 1 in 100. Thats why a lot of people started farming solo inthe first place.
Or is it because you go to Augery and see a sea of tattooed monks NOT helping your PUG finish Thirsty River?
Nerfing monk farming will NOT increase the number of good monks out there. It will reduce them because veteran monks will have less reason to keep their monk in one of those 4 valuable character slots (soon to be 6). And don't start with the "buy another account business; I'm sorry but I don't see enough advantages to excuse spending $100 on a $50 game.
I suggest all of you, before you jump on the Ban Farms band Wagon, beat the game a few times. It’s obvious from reading most of these anti-farm threads that you're either trolling for discord or haven't played long. It’s also obvious that, if you aren't trolls (and more than a few of you are) that you don't have a very good guild. I suggest you find one, even if that means leaving the one you're in. Most farmers I know have more loot than they can stash and a healthy disdain for spending their time trading. When we run out of room, we either drop the price or start giving junk to guildmembers.
And that’s downright horrible for in-game economy, now ain't it? Depriving traders of customers by giving our stuff to our friends, or (worse!) flooding the market with inexpensive inventory overflow, lowering the prices on items so people don't have to farm their brains out to afford a 100k+ecto sup Absorption rune for their Wa/R PvP toon (I know, its not worth that much...now. Truth be told, it never was. But people were charging that high for it, and people were paying it too.). Forget the fact that Anet has lowered the drops on all farms, making it harder to get those items in the first place the more time you spend in a particular area. And forget that Sorrow's Furnace was added into the game months AFTER release because Anet realized that PvE was such a huge factor and players were getting bored fast (so they make a place with items that all but scream "farm me!!!"). Forget all that. Lets focus on the real reason people dislike 55HPers (and farmers in general).
I understand the stigma surrounding farming. In other games, like WoW and EQ, farming IS bad. it promotes KillStealing, and exploits can have zone-wide consequences for other players. I was a naughty EQ1 bard, AE kiting entire zones of mobs to powerlevel myself before they nerfed it into the ground. For those of you unfamiliar, EverQuest has a large social zone, where multiple players enter and play with and against one another, trying to stay alive and kill stuff. Most of the time, its not a problem. but when you have a character that can grab agro from every mob in that zone and then run around untouched, killing said mobs at the same time...ouch. Levels, money and items galore...for one person.
Guild Wars doesn't have that problem, however, since no one can enter a zone with you unless you let them. the AoE bard kiters and their ilk are non-existent here, leaving you only with a simple need to ensure your party is a good one before you zone. The EXTREME majority of solo farmers farm SOLO. When we enter a zone, we do it alone. So we can't affect your play experience; GW is designed to prevent that from happening.
The only real reason for anyone to complain about solo monk farmers is the UW sneak, a nasty scam being perpetrated by a few poor sports who sneak into groups with a 55HP build only to let the team die so they can farm the ectos by themselves. (that, or they go into missions and pull the same crap).
It’s not Anets fault that these people exist, its Gods. If they couldn't profit from your untimely, unfair deaths, most of these people would still find a way to get you killed. They'd zone out after the group paid for UW (seen it) or afk once inside (Who HASN’T seen it?), standing around to watch and enjoy as you flame them impotently and desperately try to complete the mission 1 man short. They're jerks and TeamKillers who happen to be farmers. Take away the farm, they'll still be jerks and TKs; that won't change.
But you still have an option open to you. Take screenshots of them using 55HP with you clearly stating in the chat text that they scammed the group and got you killed. If you can, get the whole group to politely flame them. Hit the Print screen button LOTS of times, and send those pics to Anet, along with a thorough explanation of when where and how you and your team was scammed out of a plat and a UW run.
If you don't help yourselves, how can Anet help you? Your solution is to nerf the innocent. I say, fend for yourselves and stop whining…
But people won’t do that. They come here and flame, rant about a build and call us losers, unskilled. Funny thing is this; I still see a lot of threads complaining about the “need to nerf 55HP”. Not so many rants about Prophets Path, however.
It really boils down to this when people complain about monk farmers: we’re not playing healer in your PUGs. You want Anet to force us to. You think that nerfing farming will do that. We’ve got 3 more character slots on our loadscreen that say otherwise and good, respectful guilds that SCREAM we don't have to.
Listen up and listen well damage dealers of the world: You want to guarantee a good healer in your group; build a monk/Ritualist. Stop expecting someone else to instantly take up and enjoy doing the job you don't want to.

55hp is a valid build and can help a team in tough situations but the small minority of antisocial players or bots spoils it for the rest of the 55hp crowd. The best course of action is to take screen shots of the small few who do abuse the system and the rest will be fine.
When I first saw the 55 build I was astonished that someone had finally found a monk build that allowed monks to play a as a damage dealer and not just a support. The build finally gives monks a chance to experience more of the game than just that of support. I don’t want to see 55hp disappear, just the scammers and bots.

I think that the 10% should be counted on max health, without the runes, just like Death Penalty.
From my experience 55 Monks are useless.
If they walk past a Necro or Mesmer esspecally in FoW they die and not amount of rez can bring them back because they have no health to gain during the rez.

It's not an exploit, it's a strategy. If it was an exploit, anet would have fixed it ages ago, when it first got popular. Having only 55hp is of course risky, if ps goes down for even a second you're as good as dead, hense the need for proper planning.
If they'd nerf anything from the 55HP builds, you'd nerf way more, which would be lame. I think it's a shame though, Monks and Warrior simply are the best to farm with. Others have the possibility, but have way more problems, and are way slower, because of not having the runes in Monk stats, forcing them to put more points in Healing/Protection Prayers when running a 55HP build. Warrior simply owns with high armor and great damage output/stances.
55HP Monks > Other clases, but no need to nerf it. I want to keep my Prot Spirit in my Prot build!
